A Groupon Getting Scammed, Hacked or Sloppy?
Posted by Seth on Mar 7, 2011 in life, work | 0 commentsWhat is going on here. One of today’s offers from Groupon is for Ludus Tours which is offering PGA Masters Tour Packages @ Augusta National.
Granted the price point is off the charts high for a normal Groupon, but the real questions are this: How on earth can you need 100,000 to activate the deal? That is an implied total revenue figure for Groupon of almost $2.5 BILLION from this one deal. I wouldn’t image the course could even accomodate that many fans in total (oh and mind you there is no actual golf included). In fact, insiders estimate only 45,000 people attend the masters at Augusta in total. What the hell is going on here? Zero sold- is Groupon getting scammed, hacked or just sloppy?
